If you had told me that one year after deciding to spend a ridiculous amount of money chasing a passion that I would have taken that to almost every continent, I would look at you like you were an idiot. Today marks one exact year since deciding to start a real photography business. I wish I had had an idea of where I would have been able to go, who I would have been able to work with, and what I would see. I would have at least braced myself. I know that I am terrible at blogging (and worse at writing) as much as I shoot, but I want people to know that I am beyond grateful.
To Jesus for giving me strength to actually do this, for his gifts and mercy that he freely gives.
To my wife who openly supports me even though I never seem to have a day off.
To my family who is the best fan base I could ask for.
To my non-photography friends who love what I do even though they have no idea what I ramble about.
To those photographers who have challenged me and taught me and helped me grow (please google David Robertson, James Moes, Nirav Patel, Josh Boston and Luke Snyder).
I can’t imagine what is in store for this coming year. It’s crazy for me to think I am booked into winter completely and that I’ll be shooting in places like Ecuador, Congo, New York, Kentucky and Arkansas. Or that I have had the opportunity to shoot in places like India, Malawi, Amsterdam, Cairo and Florida. I just am full of gratitude. I am beyond words. And I cannot wait to see what is coming. By His grace.
